Sketch tutorial cold knowledge [Part 2]

This issue was originally intended to introduce sketch components and libraries to cold knowledge, but found that there are still a lot of tricks left unfinished, this issue continues with the previous one.

(Note: Everyone has their own usage habits and routines, so it’s hard to know whether I’m writing hot or cold for you. I’m just sharing my own little tricks that I’ve been using sketch for the first time to the present, which I feel are rather cold-blooded but useful. So, we learned a little bit of praise.

1, file sorting tips

Sketch in the use of the process, often more layers and once you do not pay attention to finishing, it will become very confusing. How to quickly organize, fast output has become a big demand for designers, I use the process that there are a few tips still quite practical:

1) when a lot of sketchboards and folders are opened, it is very troublesome to collect them one by one. Select View — Layer List — Collapse All Groups to quickly pick up all the panels for easy selection

2) During the design process, many airplane drawings may be duplicated and mixed with design drawings. Due to the lack of marking between sketch sketchpads and the inability to organize documents on sketchpads, it is often painful to operate the sketchpads in batches. At this point in fact with a non-sketchpad object (can be graphics or pictures, etc.) as an interval, used to distinguish, it will be very convenient to choose.

3) When exporting resources, the sketch measure is used, and the sketch measure is used, so it’s better to put the Sketchpad in front of it and the page in front of it. (If the exported content is certain, you don’t have to do this, but like me People with obsessive-compulsive disorder, in the export also want to confirm the contents of the export is not correct, this is better to use.

2, file replication tips

When you select only the target Sketchpad to be copied, the replicated object will be at the top of the sketchpad, which will disrupt the file structure. For example, if you had planned to copy it to a group, you would have to find it manually and drag it into the group. A trick is to use the command + left mouse button to select the group or layer near the location you want to copy, and the object will be automatically pasted near the selected object when it is copied. (Note: I have to say that the copy function in sketch is really very useful. It can not only copy to the same location, but also directly center the replicated objects in the case of local enlargement according to command + 2. It can make good use of this feature to do typesetting, alignment and other work.)

Press command+ left mouse button to copy to the specified location.

Press command+2 to copy to center position.

3, file export tips

Sketch’s export function is very powerful, but some people feel that it is still a bit cumbersome to choose the export path when doing the export process. Sometimes I want to quickly export to the desktop to see the effect. Is there a simpler way? Directly set up the slice and drag it out to Ok.

4, quickly locate the lock layer.

Locked objects are often hard to find quickly in a bunch of layers. Can you just find them one by one in the Layers Panel on the left? At this point, there is actually a small method, in the locked overlay relationship layer, by selecting the layer menu to quickly locate, and then press Command + Shift + L unlock, you can operate at will.

5, quickly absorb color.

In the process of using sketch, it is often necessary to absorb color. When you first use it, the process is often to click on the color panel, then select the straw to select the desired color. There’s actually a quicker way to quickly select the color on the screen by pressing conrtol + C (which can be seen in Layer – > style – > Pick color).

6. Quick switching skills.

In a lot of unorganized layers, in a messy situation, pressing Command + the left mouse button can only quickly select a specific layer, but then you wonder how good it would be if I could quickly select the group where the layer is (how lazy you have to be, okay, sketch can satisfy you!).
The method is: after selecting the specific layer, the ESC key on the keyboard can quickly select the upper level of the layer, which may be a group, can also be a group of higher level, and even can quickly select the sketchpad, is it very convenient? If you want to move after selecting, press option+command, and avoid misoperation.

7, draw special shape by tracing attributes.

Sketch’s edge property is very powerful, but it’s similar to Ai’s function, but many people may not find it’s use skills. Here are a few examples, maybe you can have some inspiration.
1) use the path trimming tool to draw a circle progress bar.

——–By Sketch tutorial cold knowledge

2) use the stroke feature to make the dashed progress bar, such as the following effect.

Effectiveness 2, method demonstration (note that this is done with lines, and select the leftmost option in Ends in tracing mode)
The above two effects should be noted: Dash is the width of the line segment, Gap is the width of the interval, Thickness is the length of the line segment.

8. Look at the spacing between objects.

See object spacing by option, as we all know. But usually in the work, it may often be found that some spacing can not be displayed only by option, there are two examples:

1) In the case of complex layer groups, it seems useless to press option when looking at the distance between an out-of-group object and an in-group object. At this point, if you hold down option + command at the same time, you will find that the spacing between any objects can be displayed.

2) If you are targeting a text layer, the distance you measure by holding down Option only measures the boundaries of the text. However, in many cases, when there is a larger text, the scope of the text is large, the text of the blank area is also large, will not be accurate. At this point, if you hold down the Control + Option key, you can measure the baseline at the bottom or the height at the top of the text, and you can get more accurate measurements.

9, the sketch parameter method is used to export any proportion graphics.

Let’s start with a case: Draw a 60x60px icon, now you need to export 100x100px size, can not be directly derived through the specific proportion (100/60 = 1.666666.. ).). Solution: You can export the size resource by filling 100 W or 100 h in the export parameter, which is the initials of width and hight.

10. Symbol can set too many items, want to show only a few required attribute items, how to solve?

Symbol can customize too many attributes, and many times only need to change a few of them, other attributes in the team do not want others to change or do not want to see so much themselves, how to do? Solution: in symbol, lock the layers that need not be altered. After locking, the property that does not need to change will not appear in overrides.

11, how to perform fast layer selection operation?

Sometimes you need to quickly select adjacent layers, and you can use Tab /Tab+Shift to move up and down.

——–By Sketch tutorial cold knowledge

12. Fast switching fill and stroke status.

Sometimes, you might want to be able to quickly select the edge to view the effect. Is it only possible to tick the selection in the right property bar (though that’s quick), but there’s a more convenient way to press F / B directly to select quickly and never stop.

——–By Sketch tutorial cold knowledge

13. Quickly check the details of elements.

It is clear that sketch uses command+ “+ / -” to control scaling. Sometimes, however, we don’t want to zoom in or out integers. We just want to quickly look at the details of an object’s location.
